Request for Workshop Proposals
The 1st Annual New England McNair Undergraduate Research & Creative Scholarship Conference invites faculty, staff, researchers, and professionals to submit proposals for interactive workshops that support undergraduate researchers and the professionals who mentor and guide them.
This conference will bring together undergraduate researchers, mentors, and program professionals from across the country to celebrate undergraduate research and strengthen pathways to graduate education and research careers.
We encourage innovative sessions that are engaging, practical, and interactive.
Workshop Tracks
We are currently accepting proposals for two workshop tracks:
Student Workshops
Interactive sessions designed to help undergraduate researchers:
Strengthen research skills
Prepare for graduate school
Develop academic and professional skills
Explore pathways to research and scholarly careers
Examples might include topics such as research methods, presenting research, applying to graduate school, academic writing, and navigating research opportunities.
Staff & Faculty Workshops
Sessions designed for professionals who mentor and support undergraduate researchers, including:
Mentoring strategies for undergraduate research
Program design and best practices
Supporting first-generation and underrepresented researchers
Building research pipelines to graduate education
Innovative models for research mentorship and engagement

Workshop Length: Approximately 50 minutesProposals will be reviewed by the conference planning committee. Presenters will be notified following the review process.
